Ontikal Betta (Kailasagiri) Chintamani

Chintamani is surrounded by few very beautiful hills, after exploring Sri Kadu MalleshwaraBetta next plan was to trek Ontikal betta (don’t know the exact name of this hill, its in range of Kailasagiri hill 😎).

Sanjay helped me to complete this trek and he was my partner in exploring Chintamani.

Trekking starts from the entrance of Sri Kadu Malleshwara Betta only, need to take deviation from half way through.

So far this place is untouched by many and quite clean and peaceful.

Initial incline is bit easy and there is no proper route is to climb this hill.

We need to cross couple of small dune, each climb will provide a beautiful view around.

The view of Kailsagiri Hill is amazing from this place.

Approximately its around 5 Kms trek (Up and down), this is an easy trek and very good place for beginners (If we miss the route it will become moderate trek).

Sri Kadu Malleshwara Betta Chintamani

I would like to start this post with a quote, ”If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere”. During this pandemic situation we were not able to travel much as before, but it provided an opportunity to explore the near by places which we ignored all these days.

I was at Chintamani, my wife’s native place. All these days I was thinking (even my wife :D) there is no much things to do around this place apart from eating variety of chats and some spicy food (just kidding).

Chintamani is around 75 Kms from Bengaluru can be reached either via Hoskote or via Devanahalli.

While discussing about some safe place to roam around, came to know about Sri Kadu Malleshwara betta and decided explore this place. 

Sri Kadu Malleshwara betta is one such place, where many people come here for walking or on weekend people choose these place as a short picnic spot with their families.  

It’s quite a peaceful place, morning time many people come here for a walking. 

Path to temple at top the hill also well maintained. Though there is a road to reach the top of the hill, forest department won’t allow the vehicles inside the hill entrance (only during some particular day they will allow).

There is a small temple at top of the hill dedicated to Kadu Malleshwara Swamy. 

 

View from this place is amazing. One end we can see the Bengaluru route just like some run way (though its not so straight as runway).

On the other end, Kailasagiri and Upparpete Betta looks stunning. 

Best time to visit this place is during monsoon. Its good place to witness both Sun rise and Sun set.  

After walking around this place thought that the quote mentioned at starting of this post is 100% true.
