Kerala

Thillankeri

Kerala offers the opportunity to explore the nature’s beauty at its best and leaves everyone in wonder. The tagline, God’s own country, suits it perfectly when it comes to its serene backwaters, never ending tea gardens and palm trees laden beaches.

This time our visit to Kerala included one more special attraction of Kerala ‘The Theyyam Festival’. Rahul invited us to attend this festival which is going to held at his native Thillankeri. Thillankeri is a town of Kannur district which is around 280Kms from Bangalore.

The Muzhappilangadu beach which stretches across 4 Kms of hard sand where we can drive our vehicles for the entire length. This is said to be the largest drive-in beach in Asia. It has a long stretch of drive-in sea shore. Nature has blessed this place with scenic beauty peppered with lush greenery all around.

Bekal Fort - Kasaragod

Bekal Fort is one of the key attractions of Kasaragod (located 15 kms from Kanghangad in Kasargod district) and North Kerala. One should certainly not miss this place if you are in the region. Many of the superhit movies like Bombay of Maniratnam, Omkar and A were shot here.

Munnar is a town in the Western Ghats mountain range in India’s Kerala state. A hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite, it's surrounded by rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the late 19th century.

Mattupetty Dam

Mattupetty Dam is around 11 Kms from Munnar (around 25 Kms from the place we were staying) we will get couple of other view points before reaching the dam. But, rain was quite study and didn’t let me to take my camera out of car.

Idukki dam and some unknown water falls

Munnar is one of such places where, no need to go far to visit waterfalls on the way only we will get to see many unknown waterfalls. That too in monsoon no need to mention it. We were luck to witness many such waterfalls on the way to Idukki dam.

Athirappilly Falls is known for its charming landscapes. This waterfalls is also know as ‘The Naigara of India’, its formation resembles the popular Naigara Falls in the USA. It is also the largest waterfalls in Kerala.
