Recap of 2013

2013 was a remarkable year, filled with new beginnings and memorable milestones:

  • I started writing blogs to share my travel experiences.
  • Embarked on my first international trip, marking a significant adventure in my life.
  • Fulfilled a dream of owning a DSLR, allowing me to capture and preserve cherished travel memories.
  • Achieved a childhood aspiration by witnessing the grandeur of Mysuru Dasara.











As mentioned earlier, started writing my travel blog and Boston was the first post which I published  

August got an opportunity to travel to USA on official purpose. On weekends explored  

Waltham – During my visit to USA stayed at Waltham, a city in Massachusetts. The original home of the Boston Manufacturing Company, the city was a prototype for 19th century industrial city planning, spawning what became known as the Waltham-Lowell system of labour and production. The city is now a centre for research and higher education, home to Brandeis University and Bentley University.













New York – New York City comprises 5 boroughs sitting where the Hudson River meets the Atlantic Ocean. At its core is Manhattan, a densely populated borough that’s among the world’s major commercial, financial and cultural centers. Its iconic sites include skyscrapers such as the Empire State Building and sprawling Central Park. Broadway theater is staged in neon-lit Times Square.












Boston – Duck Tour

Super Duck is a unique tour of Boston’s waterfront and Harbor aboard a duck boat – an amphibious vehicle that can drive Boston’s historic streets and then plunge mightily into Boston Harbor for an exciting narrated look at the city. Finally reached Duck Boat and boarded Duck Boat.











Washington DC – My first solo trip in abroad. 











DC is well known for many famous museums and for photographers it’s a perfect place to capture historic monuments.

October – Got an opportunity to witness Mysuru Dasara festival – world famous Jambu Savari











November – Drive to Thirthahalli, on the way stopped near Sakrebailu Elephant Camp 













On Kannada Rajyostava visited Kuppalli

Ride to Nandhi Hills and visit to Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple 













December – Unplanned ‘Tadiandamol Trek’ 














Tadiandamol is the highest peak in Coorg and the third highest peak in Karnataka. Its located around 50 Kms from Kodagu near to Virajpete (Around 320 Kms from Bengaluru).

On the way back visited Chelavara falls and Nalknad Palace 













Overall good year.. Some more trips in coming year already planned. Hope we execute it and all goes as planned

Horsley Hills

Horsley Hills is one of the perfect weekend getaway from Bengaluru, a bike ride to Horsley Hills offers a thrilling and scenic adventure. Located in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, Horsley Hills is approximately 150 KM from Bengaluru, making it an ideal destination for a short road trip.   We can take multiple routes to reach Horsley Hills but we chose,   Bengaluru – Hoskote – Chintamani – Madanapalle – Horsley Hills route. Its approximately 150 KM from Bengaluru and need 4-5 hours (depending on number of breaks we take).   The road conditions are generally good, with a mix of highways and country roads. After Hoskote, it's a single road, but the condition is relatively good. Be cautious of some potholes and patches after crossing Chintamani. Dharmasthala

Dharmasthala is one of the most visited pilgrimage destinations in Karnataka. This picturesque town, nestled in the Western Ghats, attracts millions of devotees and travelers seeking spiritual solace and peace every year. Dharmasthala is well-connected and accessible by various modes of transport. It is approximately 300 kilometers from Bangalore and 75 kilometers from Mangalore. Buses and taxis are readily available from both cities. Most people and buses take the Hassan - Sakleshpura - Shiradi Ghat route to reach Dharmasthala. However, we took the Charmudi Ghat route. During the monsoon season, this route is quite challenging due to heavy rainfall. There are plenty of accommodation options in Dharmasthala, but it is advised to book rooms online before arriving, especially during weekends and special days when it can be difficult to find available rooms.
