As you leave the city behind, you’ll find yourself surrounded by lush greenery and quiet village roads. Nelligudde Kere

Image
After exploring Ramadevara Betta, we took a quick break to fill our empty stomachs at Rajesh Biryani Hotel in Ramanagara. The biryani here is delicious and definitely worth trying. Since we had some time, we decided to visit Nelligudde Kere on our way back home. Nelligudde Kere is about 15 kilometers from Ramanagara, 3 kilometers from Bidadi, and 50 kilometers from Bangalore, making it a great spot for a day trip. You can easily reach the lake by car or bike, and there’s plenty of parking near the entrance. The best time to visit Nelligudde Kere is early in the morning or late in the afternoon. The cooler months from October to February are ideal, as the weather is nice and the surroundings are lush and green after the monsoon. Early mornings offer a calm atmosphere with misty surroundings, while late afternoons give you beautiful lighting for photography. The lake is surrounded by greenery and rocky formations, making it a perfect spot for a peaceful walk, a quiet picnic, or just sitt...

Thimmappana Betta

Image
Thimmappana Betta is a hidden gem that’s become popular with nature lovers and adventure seekers. Located near Ramanagara, this spot has recently gained attention, with many movies being filmed here and more people visiting. Thimmappana Betta is about 60 kilometers from Bangalore, and it usually takes 1.5 to 2 hours to reach. I hadn’t been out for a ride in a while, so I decided to go for a quick trip, and Harshith joined me for this quick ride. We started at 5:00 AM from Bengaluru and stopped in Bidadi for breakfast. The drive to Thimmappana Betta is scenic, but be cautious on the last stretch as the road gets rocky. The best times to visit are early in the morning or late in the evening to catch the sunrise or sunset. The weather is most pleasant from October to February, especially after the monsoon when everything is green and vibrant. We reached Thimmappana Betta by 7:00 AM. There’s no entry fee right now, but you’ll need to pay Rs.20/- for bike parking. At the top, there’s a smal...

Horsley Hills

Image
Horsley Hills is one of the perfect weekend getaway from Bengaluru, a bike ride to Horsley Hills offers a thrilling and scenic adventure. Located in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, Horsley Hills is approximately 150 KM from Bengaluru, making it an ideal destination for a short road trip.   We can take multiple routes to reach Horsley Hills but we chose,   Bengaluru – Hoskote – Chintamani – Madanapalle – Horsley Hills route. Its approximately 150 KM from Bengaluru and need 4-5 hours (depending on number of breaks we take).   The road conditions are generally good, with a mix of highways and country roads. After Hoskote, it's a single road, but the condition is relatively good. Be cautious of some potholes and patches after crossing Chintamani. Arvind and I started our ride at 5:30 AM to avoid city traffic and enjoy the cool morning breeze. The roads were relatively empty, and the slight drizzling added to the beauty of the journey. After riding for about 30 kilome...

Ride to Kanyakumari

Image
Ride to Kanyakurmari was one of my dream ride, It took nearly a decade to check off this item from my bucket list - first, a ride to Kashmir, and now, a ride to Kanyakumari. 😎  Seena initiated this trip, and I had some personal doubts about it, but I eventually managed to join in. Our plan was to travel during the Independence Day long weekend. I took a day off on the 14th of August, and we planned to start from Bengaluru early in the morning on the 12th of August. We gathered near the Nice Road junction at 5:00 AM and started our ride.  Our goal was to reach Kanyakumari in one go, which is approximately 660 kilometers from Bengaluru. We knew it would take at least 12 hours to reach our destination, but it wouldn't be considered an adventure if everything goes as per the plan.  We didn't learn from our past mistakes and decided to plan a trip on a long weekend 🤦🏻‍♂️, which led to heavy traffic as soon as we exited the Nice Road. We struggled through heavy traffic ...
