Sometimes, the best part of a road trip is an unplanned detour. After visiting the Avani Ramalingeshwara Temple , I noticed a signboard pointing to nearby attractions. Most of the places listed were already familiar to me, but one name caught my attention— Bethamangala Dam . It wasn't part of my original plan, but since I had enough time before heading back to Bengaluru, I decided to explore this new destination. 😊 🏛️ About Bethamangala Dam Located in the Kolar district of Karnataka , Bethamangala Dam was built across the Palar River during the British era in the early 1900s. It was originally constructed to supply water to the famous Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) and nearby villages. Hirekolale Lake

Hirekolale Lake is one of the most wonderful places to visit in Chikkamagaluru, it’s surrounded by the beauty of mountains in the Western Ghats,. Suvarnavathi Dam

Suvarnavathi Dam is located near Attugulipura village, 14 km from Chamarajanagara town. The Dam is built across Suvarnavathi river which is a sub-river of Kaveri river. It is adjacent to Chamarajangara to Coimbatore National Highway.  A reservoir across river Suvarnavathi was built in 1977. Next to it is the Chikkahole Reservoir. These are called twin reservoirs. Both of them are in the back drop of beautiful nature. After crossing K-Gudi stopped here for a while, walked till the gates capturing few pics around. Entry to this dam is free while passing through this highway its good place to visit.
