Birds of Paradise
One lazy Sunday morning, we decided to visit Birds of Paradise, a unique place where you not only watch birds and animals but also get a chance to learn about them. The best part is that visitors can even touch and hold some of them, making it an unforgettable experience.
This trip was mainly planned for our kids, Viha and Moulya. Since it was a last-minute plan, we managed to book an afternoon slot. Pre-booking is mandatory here, and the slots can be booked through their official website. Thankfully, Kiran took care of all the arrangements, and at the scheduled time, we drove off to our destination.
How to Reach: Birds of Paradise is about 25–30 km from Bengaluru city. It’s easy to reach by car, cab, or bike. Driving is the most convenient option, as it gives flexibility with timing.
Timings & Entry Fee:
- Open 6 days a week (closed on Tuesdays for maintenance).
- Timings: 10:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
- Entry Fee: ₹250 + GST per person (for ages 3 years and above). This fee is the same on weekdays, weekends, and public holidays.
The Experience: Once we entered the premises, we were grouped into batches. A guide then took us around the farm, explaining the different birds and animals they care for. It was exciting to see the kids interact with the birds and listen to their curious questions. The entire walk felt both educational and fun.
Our Takeaway: Our trip to Birds of Paradise was refreshing and memorable, especially for the kids. It’s a perfect short getaway near Bengaluru where both adults and children can learn, play, and connect with nature. If you plan to visit, remember to book in advance and enjoy a day filled with nature, learning, and joy.
