Mysuru – The Magic of a Royal Celebration
Mysuru needs no introduction, especially when it comes to its world-famous Dasara celebrations. Known as the Nada Habba of Karnataka, Mysuru Dasara is a grand celebration of culture, tradition, and heritage. During this festival, the royal city transforms into a magical place with illuminated streets, beautifully decorated buildings, and the magnificent Mysore Palace glowing with thousands of lights.
Visiting Mysuru is always special, but experiencing the city during Dasara is something truly unforgettable!
🚗 A Last-Minute Plan!
For the past few years, I had missed the opportunity to witness Mysuru’s beautiful Dasara lighting. This year, a last-minute plan finally made it happen!
Luckily, the city had extended the illumination for another 10 days after Dasara, giving us one more chance to experience the magic.
One evening, Chinnu Anna called me and said, “Let’s go to Mysuru!”
And there we were, ready for another little road trip!
We started from Bengaluru around 6:00 PM and reached Mysuru as planned. But finding a parking spot was a different adventure altogether! 😄 After driving around and doing a little parking circus, we finally managed to park.
🌟 A City Dressed in Lights
Once we reached the illuminated streets, all the driving and parking struggles felt worth it.
The highlight of the evening was the magnificent Mysore Palace, beautifully illuminated with thousands of sparkling bulbs. Seeing the entire palace glowing against the night sky was truly magical, making it one of those views you wish you could capture forever! ✨👑
The beautifully decorated roads, glowing buildings, and festive atmosphere made the entire city look magical. Every corner had something beautiful to capture, and we spent time enjoying the lighting and clicking pictures.
There is something special about seeing Mysuru during Dasara. The city’s royal charm, combined with the festive decorations, creates an experience that is difficult to describe in words.
❤️ Some Plans are Worth Making!
Sometimes, the best trips are the ones planned at the last minute. A simple phone call, a quick drive, and a few hours in a beautiful city were enough to create another wonderful memory.
Mysuru Dasara is not just a festival; it’s an emotion for every Kannadiga. If you ever get a chance, make sure you experience the city of lights during Dasara! ✨
