Ride to Kanyakumari

Image
Ride to Kanyakurmari was one of my dream ride, It took nearly a decade to check off this item from my bucket list - first, a ride to Kashmir, and now, a ride to Kanyakumari. 😎  Seena initiated this trip, and I had some personal doubts about it, but I eventually managed to join in. Our plan was to travel during the Independence Day long weekend. I took a day off on the 14th of August, and we planned to start from Bengaluru early in the morning on the 12th of August. We gathered near the Nice Road junction at 5:00 AM and started our ride.  Our goal was to reach Kanyakumari in one go, which is approximately 660 kilometers from Bengaluru. We knew it would take at least 12 hours to reach our destination, but it wouldn't be considered an adventure if everything goes as per the plan.  We didn't learn from our past mistakes and decided to plan a trip on a long weekend 🤦🏻‍♂️, which led to heavy traffic as soon as we exited the Nice Road. We struggled through heavy traffic ...

Shilhaandara

I heard about Shilhaandara Resort from many friends but didn't have the opportunity to visit until our recent team outing. This beautiful resort is located in the Ramanagar District, approximately 50 kilometers from Bengaluru, surrounded by stunning natural scenery. We can reach Shilhandara in 1 and Half hours. If we take express high way, we can reach bit early as well.  The route Google Maps suggests as the shortest is quite narrow, so I recommend taking a different route, even if it takes a bit longer. Shilhaandara Resort offers three different packages: a) Day Out Package b) Full Day Package c) Hi-Tea and Dinner Package The Day Out Package, which includes breakfast (the one we chose), costs around INR 1200, including taxes and internet handling charges. You can make reservations through their official website ( http://shilhaandara.com/packages/ ). This package provides access to: Indoor games such as table tennis, carom, chess, dart, and a 30-minute session of rain dance...

We missed the Kuduremukha trek, but we were able to hike a beautiful place near Mudigere instead. After Kuduremukha, our plan was to stay at Gatikallu Homestay, which is located in Mudigere and around 200 kilometers away. On the way, we took a quick break near Samse and took some beautiful pictures.    The journey was fantastic, and singing old songs with friends made it even more enjoyable 😄. We didn’t even realize that we had been traveling for 6 hours! 😎    Unfortunately, the sun was nowhere to be seen, and it was raining continuously without stopping 😟. This forced us to stay back at the homestay. However, we found a fun way to pass the time. After lunch, we decided to go into the pool despite the cold weather. We later headed to play mud volleyball, which turned out to be a lot of fun.🤩    The homestay offered various activities like mud volleyball, kayaking, and estate walks. We made the most of our time and had a memorable day. The next day, we w...

Samse

Samse is a small village in the southern state of Karnataka. It's found in the Kalasa area of Chikkamagaluru district. This village is part of the Kudremukh range and is about 10 kilometers away from Kalasa. We planned to visit it on my way back because when we was going to Kuduremukha, it was getting dark. On the road, you can see a beautiful tea plantation in Samse. Inside the tea plants, there's a beautiful temple for Sri Siddhi Ganapathy. This temple is famous, and many people visit it. I stopped there quickly to take some pictures. Samse is also popular for being a location where movies are sometimes filmed. The place is really nice for enjoying nature and its beauty. Even though it had been raining for a few days, the rain stopped for a bit when we was there. This let us take some pictures.  There's a tea shop across the road that serves good tea. If you ever stop there, you should try the tea – it's quite nice. After enjoying the surroundings for a while...
