The Sri Sai Baba Temple near Hirisave is a peaceful place to visit. It's conveniently located on the main Bengaluru-Mangaluru Highway (NH-75). Although I had passed by this temple many times, I never had the chance to stop and visit it until recently. This time, we were fortunate to stop and visit this beautiful temple. Dedicated to the revered saint Sri Sai Baba, the temple offers a serene retreat for both devotees and travelers. The temple is open to visitors from 7:00 AM to 7:45 PM. Hirisave is about 150 kilometers from Bangalore and 60 kilometers from Hassan, making it approximately a 3-hour drive from Bangalore. The area is also well-connected by public transport. In addition to the main shrine of Sai Baba, the temple also features an idol of Udbhava Anjaneya (Hanuman). During the summer holidays, we planned a family trip to Vythiri in Wayanad. We booked our stay at Vythiri Mist Resort Vythiri Mist Resort . Wayanad is about 300 kilometers from Bengaluru and takes around 6 hours to reach. Since the resort check-in time was at 2:00 PM, we decided to start our journey at 7:00 AM, stopping near Mysuru for breakfast. The road conditions were very good, making it easy to reach Vythiri. Vythiri is a small town and a popular tourist destination in Wayanad. The area is known for its beautiful resorts, many with similar names. It's a charming town, perfect for a quick getaway. We didn't plan to visit many other places on the way or after reaching the resort. Our plan was to relax at the resort. After a quick stop at Yaganti, we headed to our main destination, Ahobilam. Ahobilam is around 340 km from Bengaluru and 78 km from Yaganti. Including our stop at Yaganti and several breaks along the way, it took us about 10 hours to reach Ahobilam. Prasad Anna had already arranged our stay, so we checked into our hotel late in the evening. After freshening up, we had dinner at a nearby shop. Our plan was to start the trek early in the morning and cover all nine temples. The hotel staff suggested starting the trek after 5:00 AM. After some rest, we started our trek at 5:00 AM. Our first stop was the Prahlada Varada Narasimha Temple, the main temple in Lower Ahobilam. The temple was easy to reach and beautifully maintained.
