Andaman Dairies # Part - 9 - Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island) - Radhanagar Beach

Image
The rain finally showed some courtesy on us stopped around 3.00 PM, After coming back from the scuba dive we were sitting in our room because of rain. Once we observed that rain is getting reduced, we called up our trip adviser and checked with him if he can manage for some side seeing. He told he can arrange for Radhanagar beach. Radhanagar beach is one of the cleanest beach in Asia, and I must mention its best place to get into water and play. A long white sand beach provides an opportunity for photo session as well. There is a changing room available near the beach, but felt that it could have maintained even better. They will charge Rs.5/- to use this changing room. They claim that they provide shower but personally could not stay more than couple of minutes inside the changing room. Other than that, the beach side is maintained very well and very good place for spending time in beach. Once you are back to parking place, there is enough...

Andaman Dairies # Part - 8 - Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island) - Scuba Dive

Image
Andaman trip main intention was Scuba dive, which was pending from long time. First thing we planned after reaching Havelock island was booking the slots for scuba dive. Weather was not promising from the day we reached Andaman, there was a high alert across the island because of cyclone. We booked the first slot in the morning for scuba dive. Our trip coordinator only helped us to book the slot, they will charge Rs.3500/- per head, which includes all the scuba dive gears and they will only capture some photos and videos of the dive. We reached the destination at 8.00 Am and we were eagerly waiting to get into water, first we need to fill the form with our personal details about our basic health conditions and later they will explain some basic things about scuba dive. Finally it was the time to wear the scuba dive gears  😊 It was around 1 hour dive and they will take us to 6 meters depth for this basic dive package. It would be sea walk and then dive, wh...

Andaman Dairies # Part - 7 - Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island) - Kalapathar Beach

Image
After spending a quality time in Neel island we headed to Havelock island hoping for more adventure. We reached havelock island around 3.30 PM and from jetty it was hardly 300 meters for the hotel we booked. We stayed in hotel called Haywizz (personally I don’t recommend this hotel) the pictures updated in hotel portal are not original. And its not situated in good location as well. Plan for the remaining day was to visit Kalapathar beach, since we had only couple of hours left for the day. From our hotel it was around 30 minutes’ drive and as always cab was ready on the intimated time. The Kalapathar beach is situated on one corner of Havelock Island. The beach gets its name from the surrounding village, which is Kalapathar Village and the black rocks (known as Kalapathar in Hindi) that adorn the coastline here. We reached the beach around 4.30PM, we can get into water at this place. But it started drizzling and even we were not in a mood to get into wate...

Andaman Dairies # Part - 6 - Shahid Dweep (Neill Island) - Bharatpur Beach

Image
After morning photo session near Lakshmanpur beach headed back to our resort and plan for the rest of the day to explore (opt for water sports activities available in) Bharathpur Beach. Across Andaman resort check out timings is 8.00 AM, so we had enough time to explore Bharathpur beach before we leave to Havelock island.   Bharathpur beach is perfect place for photo shoot. Located just half a kilometer from the jetty, it is considered to be the best beach in Neil Island. There are lot of options for sports activities like Scuba dive, snorkelling, glass boat ride, speed boat ride etc., but we opted only for glass boat ride. Most people recommends scuba dive in Havelock island so even we planned our scuba dive in havelock island. They charge Rs. 600/- per head for a ride and it will be for closely one hour ride. Got some amazing views of corals during this ride. Once we were back from the ride spent some time in clicking the pics around the beach,...

Andaman Dairies # Part - 5 - Shahid Dweep (Neill Island) - Laxmanpur Beach

Laxmanpur Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Neli island, it’s quite famous for sunset. Since we stayed just next to this beach we got some extra time for photo session and some relaxed time around the beach. There is no major water sports options near this beach, but very good place for photo session and to witness the awesome sun set. After coming back from Howrath Bridge we had some time to relax in resort after lunch. After a quick nap we were all set to go for a round around Laxmanpur beach, but the time we reached the beach it was partially cloudy and could not enjoy the sunset. I was bit disappointed since I didn’t get a nice click of sunset at this place. It was bit crowded in the evening, since it was famous for sunset. Because of that planned to visit again in the morning to click some pics around this place. We were lucky no was around when we visited this place in the morning, same time I was bit scared too. But got some really ...

Andaman Dairies # Part - 4 - Shahid Dweep (Neill Island) - Howrath Bridge

Image
The natural rock bridge (locally called as Howrah bridge) is another wonder on this little island. Located near Laxmanpur villag. First place we explored in this beautiful island was this place. From port it will hardly take 10 mins drive to this place and our driver suggested to take a guide, initially we thought its not required but we decided to take a walk along with guide. They will charge around 300 to 400 Rs per group. My personal opinion is its worth to opt for a guide. From parking point we should walk for 5 minutes to reach the shore. This place is very good for photo session but crowd should be less. Entry to this beach itself is beautiful and was trying to click the pics, but our guide was asking to hurry up since sea was getting high tides.  During the low tide, we can see different coral reefs and colorful fishes. The path is not smooth, one should walk over a slippery rocks to reach the natural bridge. Its bit ris...
