The Hogenakkal waterfalls, originating from the Kaveri river, is one of the most popular spots for a trip from Bangalore. For one of our team outing we decided to visit this place, usually all my trips will be with small group. But this trip was with around 50 people   We gathered near Silk board and boarded the bus, Hogenakkal falls distance from Bengaluru is around 125 km. It is located in Dharmapuri district, Tamil Nadu. It will easily take 4 to 5 hours to reach Hogenakkal falls from Bengaluru. The name Hogenakkal came from two Kannada words “Hoge” means Smoke and “Kal” means Rock which means the “Smoking Rock“. Ramadevara betta is a hill in the Ramanagara district. Ramadevara betta is around 50Kms from Bangalore, just before reaching Ramanagara (after Ghousia College of Engineering) need to take right turn (if you are traveling from Bangalore).  This place will be open for visitors all the days’ from morning 10.00AM to Evening 5.00PM. I read few blogs about night trekking and all, but when I checked in the check post they said they won’t allow such activities at any cost!!! Since it was last minute plan only Seena joined me for this drive (because it is just 50 Kms from Bangalore can’t mention it as Long drive :P), we reached Ramadevara betta around 11.00AM. Trip to Pondicherry (also called as Pondy/Puducherry) was not a just trip; we planned this trip especially for Manja. Actually it was Manja’s bachelor party… which was shifted all the way from Bangkok to Pondy :P Due to time constrain and busy schedule we could not make it to Bangkok, (Bangkok plan is pending from almost 3 years..!!!) since no one was in stage of taking leave we even dropped plan of hanging out in Goa, finally we decided to travel to Pondy.   One more thing, trip to Pondy was my first trip in my new car… J    We planned this trip on Good Friday day and this trip was for just 3 days. Muthathi is one of the best options for one day trip around Bengaluru, It’s about 100 kms from Bengaluru towards Kanakapura. It is located on the banks of the river Kaveri. We were planning for a short ride around and decided to visit Muthathi. It will take around 2 hours to reach Muthathi. Road condition is quite good and there are enough option to fill fuel on the way. Once we pass through Kanakapura (60+ kms), need to take a left deviation from Sathanur (18 kms from Kanakapura) from there Muthathi is around 20 KMs. Ride through this stretch is highlight of this ride. We stopped for a photo session on the way for couple of minutes, and resumed our journey. ChunchanaKatte Falls is at a distance of 55 Kms from Mysuru (around 205 Kms from Bengaluru). Falls is a famous waterfall formed by Cauvery River. The river flows into Chunchanakatte forming a 60 feet tall and about 350 feet wide waterfall. Best time to visit this place is during monsoon, we visited this beautiful waterfalls during wrong time (peak summer). About Chunchanakatte Falls:  There is a belief that Lord Rama during his tenure in the forests stayed in this place on the request of the tribal couple Chuncha and Chunchi. There is a belief that Goddess Sita took holy bath in this place and till now the water colour in that area looks like mixed with turmeric and other holy powders used for pooja. It took around 5 hours for u to reach place, which included our couple of breaks.   The place is very scenic surrounded by waterfalls and greenery.
