Borhill Falls
Our adventure in Meghalaya continued as we left Mawlynnong bright and early, ready for a day of exploring the region’s hidden wonders. After experiencing the charm of the cleanest village in Asia, we planned to visit Borhill Falls and then make a stop at the Bangladesh Viewpoint for some amazing landscapes.
Our first stop was Riwai Village to see the Living Root Bridge once more. The peaceful atmosphere, beautiful greenery, and the unique charm of the root bridge always make Riwai a refreshing stop. After enjoying the calm scenery, taking a few photos, and stretching our legs, we got back on the road, excited to see Borhill Falls next.
After a scenic drive through the misty hills, we arrived at Borhill Falls which is around 20 KMS from Mawlynnong. Hidden in a lush green valley, this waterfall was a refreshing sight. Since it’s not a crowded spot, we had the place mostly to ourselves, which made the experience even more relaxing. The falls flow down over several rocks, creating small pools, and the mist in the air made everything feel cool and fresh. We took our time here, snapping photos, chatting, and simply enjoying the natural beauty.
After soaking up the tranquility of Borhill Falls, we continued to the Bangladesh Viewpoint, a short drive away. When we arrived, the views took our breath away. From the viewpoint, we could see the wide, open plains of Bangladesh stretching far into the distance. It’s amazing how you can look out across the hills of Meghalaya into another country! We took photos, sat for a while to appreciate the landscape, and admired the contrast between the lush green hills around us and the open plains beyond.
After a memorable day of exploring Borhill Falls and taking in the stunning views at the Bangladesh Viewpoint, we headed back, feeling satisfied and grateful for the experiences we’d had. Meghalaya’s beauty continues to surprise us, with each stop bringing a new perspective and another chance to connect with nature.
