Mawsawdong Falls
We kicked off our day in Cherrapunji with excitement, ready to explore some amazing spots nearby. Our first stop was Mawsmai Caves, one of the popular attractions in the area. The cave isn’t too long, but it’s packed with interesting spots and unique formations. This little adventure set the tone for the rest of our day.
To get to Mawsawdong Falls, we drove a short distance from our earlier stops. The path to the falls took us through small villages, scenic hills, and patches of thick green forest, giving us a glimpse of the peaceful countryside. Once we arrived, we followed a short, easy trail that led us down to the waterfall.
The water flowed gracefully over the rocks, creating a beautiful cascade. Unlike some of the bigger waterfalls in the area, Mawsawdong has a calm and peaceful vibe. The falls flow into a clear, natural pool below, with rocks and trees surrounding the area. It’s a perfect spot to relax and soak in the beauty of nature.
As we explored Mawsawdong Falls, we came across a unique viewpoint crafted from bamboo and tree roots. Each step along the path opened up even more beautiful views of the waterfall below.
The closer we got, the more breathtaking the scenery became. The sound of the waterfall and the view of the lush forest made us feel completely connected to nature. Mawsawdong Falls is also less crowded than other tourist spots, which gave us a quiet, private experience to fully appreciate the beauty around us.
Finally, we arrived at Mawsawdong Falls, a quiet and stunning spot. We had the entire place to ourselves, making it feel even more special. We snapped a few photos, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere, and began our walk back.
On the way back, we noticed a sign for a Natural Swimming Pool at Mranbuh Falls. Curious, we decided to take a small detour to explore it. It turned out to be another beautiful spot, and the natural pool was just as refreshing as it looked. This unexpected find was the perfect way to wrap up our adventure, giving us one more unique experience to remember in Cherrapunji.
